The Waterboys

Led by Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist Mike Scott, the band has remained musically and poetically relevant for more than 30 years, with an impressive evolution that crosses the boundaries of genres.

Their epic ‘Big Music’ from the 1980s on albums like ‘This Is the Sea’ and ‘A Pagan Place’ grew into a genre in its own right. Later, they embraced Irish folk on masterpieces like ‘Fisherman's Blues’ and ‘Room to Roam’, without ever losing their spirit of experimentation. Stubbornly, they continue to enforce their relevance to this day; more recent albums like ‘Good Luck, Seeker’ and ‘Modern Blues’ show a band that continues to evolve and innovate.

Released on Friday 4 April, their new album ‘Life, Death And Dennis Hopper’ tells the life story of legendary actor Dennis Hopper and paints a broader picture of the zeitgeist in which he lived. With guest contributions from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Fiona Apple and Steve Earle, it promises to be an extraordinary musical journey.

Live, The Waterboys bring an immersive experience in which tradition and innovation merge seamlessly, with an energy and eloquence that has lost none of its power after all these years.
