About
Matt Berninger
As the frontman of Grammy-winning band The National, Berninger has defined an entire generation of indie rock with his compelling lyrics and rich, lived-in baritone voice. In addition to his sublime work with the band, he has also proven his strength as a solo artist. His debut solo album Serpentine Prison, released in 2020, was described as "gorgeously crafted" by Rolling Stone and produced by legendary musician and producer Booker T. Jones.
His second solo album, Get Sunk, is expected in May 2025 and is sure to deliver another dose of heartfelt storytelling and beautifully crafted melodies. His brand-new single “Bonnet Of Pins,” released last month, offers a promising taste of what’s to come. Berninger is not only a musician but also a visual artist. His creative process is a seamless interplay between music and art. His latest fascination? Writing song lyrics and poetry on baseballs — a playful expansion of his artistic universe.
