210th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo

On June 18, 1815, in Waterloo, Napoleon made his final gamble in a battle that forever marked history. With his army, he attempted a bold maneuver: to defeat Wellington and Blücher's forces separately before the coalition could launch its offensive. For over 10 hours, 180,000 men clashed to change the fate of Europe.

To commemorate the 210th anniversary of this significant event, join us on June 28 and 29 for two spectacular reenactments of the battle, featuring over 2,000 soldiers in uniform, 100 horses, and 25 cannons. Feel the intensity of the combat and immerse yourself in history.

Explore the historical bivouacs: visit the French camp at Napoleon's Last Headquarters and the Allied camp in the orchard of Hougoumont Farm, where you can discover the fascinating daily life of soldiers.

Take part in civilian and military activities in the bivouacs set up at both Napoleon's Last Headquarters and Hougoumont. Stroll through the civil village located on the Panorama Esplanade and discover the trades of yesteryear. To everyone’s delight, 50 craftsmen will demonstrate the skills of now-forgotten professions, creating an authentic atmosphere at this historic site. Meet the basket weaver, clog maker, ropemaker, lace maker, wood turner, potter, spinner, blacksmith, surgeon, and many more.

To complete your experience of this exceptional and convivial weekend, you can visit the Memorial 1815, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025. Tickets can be purchased on waterloo1815.be or directly on-site.
